dag_nabbhett as prolific as robert pollard or bill laswell, mr. baker makes music that appeals to higher brain functions. everytime i listen to this i shake my head in wonder.

Dustin K It can take a while to dig through his backlog but there always seems to be some gems I discover periodically. This is one of them. Crossing a lot of styles this combines different female vocalists w/ (largely) more sparse instrumental offerings. Less to the ambient, psych, & drone sides, and closer to stripped down singer/songwriter stuff with some unique spins and influences that occasionally bring it back to those genres I mentioned but more bare bones. Just listen to it and see what I mean. Favorite track: Mélusine.
DEER

DEER A well crafted album. The use of different vocalists and even language makes this a unique and varied experience. Aidans (and friends) playing sets the tone throughout and ties together Already Drowning perfectly.
Tom Colquhoun
Tom Colquhoun thumbnail
Tom Colquhoun A measured and tentative slowburner just dripping with atmosphere and character, analogue tensions and mellow mystery. Favorite track: 30 Days/30 Nights.
Scoots McGoo
Scoots McGoo thumbnail
Scoots McGoo Talk about entering another world. I played this daily for weeks when I first downloaded. Had to force myself to stop as I was forgetting to feed or clean myself. Favorite track: Ice.
JLAbad

JLAbad Intelligent, experimental and very interesting post-rock album with female vocals. An author who needs to be followed more closely. Amazing. Favorite track: Mélusine.
